My fender is black and does have a couple of small easily removed dings in it but it still is very nice. It is of the 1948 and 1948 variety.
I will not sell this fender because in the worse case I can replace the strap on it and use it on a big twin.

The motorcycle was unearthed (in a sorry state) in Holland by a Dutch friend of mine about four years ago - it has matching frame/engine numbers. I have clear title to the motorcycle and It has passed an English MOT test in April this year. I have found it at 500cc (30.50ci) to be underpowered with my 220 pound frame and have subsequently purchased an upgrade kit (Kiwi) to 600cc, but I have not yet had the time to install it (included in the sale).
I'm sure that I could arrange shipment to the States - if you're interested, I would investigate a price for you.

One pile of Antique 1948 Indian motocycle chief 74 cubic inch 3 speed transmission parts.. These American motorcycle parts are sold as parts and not a complete registerable motor vehicle.. Both engine and frame are 48 but non-matching.
The late 48 frame is typically tortured and needs some attention on one of the floor board mounts as it is loose. The bolt holes that mount the center stand are broken and the seat post bushing needs replacing..
The front forks are 48 with zirks and need more parts and the front brake drum is 47 not 48.. The rims are original size spoke holes .343 . Carb is a 344. Speedo cover is original. Assume the engine, tranny and everything else will need restoration, rebuilding, parts, time and lots more money..
You are welcome to come take a look at these Indian parts if in the Boston area..

This motorcycle had the same owner for the past 17 years. Thousands of dollars were spent with Starklite Indian on an older restoration. This included: hubs, brakes, wiring harness, battery, coil, exhaust pipes and headers, sprockets, rear shocks, clutch plates, rebuilt original speedometer, speedo cable, tires and more. Receipts will be provided.The 74ci engine (CDD 1595 B), transmission, distributor and carburetor have just been thoroughly rebuilt by one of the best in the world. Complete records of the build tolerances, specifications, parts and labor will be provided to the new owner.
Correct open (non-skirted) fenders. The frame is already powder coated. The original tank is in excellent restored condition. It has the original Motolamp headlight, original Hoyt ammeter, original speedometer. Correct (and extremely hard-to-find) 18" wheels have been obtained. Correct floorboards have been sourced and also will be provided.
I will complete the restoration according to your preferences for color, style of Indian tank logo, seat, and other items. Parts have been sourced to make this a rare wartime police bike, if so desired.
All pictures are before work began on the powerplant and correct fenders, etc. Digital pictures of bike in current dissassembled state and aforementioned parts available upon request.

It has a later shovel disc brake front end, original pan rear brake and wheels.5 gal fatbobs with 52 emblems,mousetrap clutch, new speedo S&S super E carb I just replaced all the bushings in the kicker cover and put new gears in it, It starts 2-3 kick everytime and runs like a champ. I never tore the engine down so i dont know what all was done when it was rebuilt. the guy i bought it from said it had less then 3000 on a rebuild. It doesnt seem stock, it moves pretty good.
